other info
  • Whenever one sees an American frame from this period with the

maker's logo forming the front plaques, it more often than not

denoted a 'safety' frame, or a frame used for work. Unscrupulous

sellers of vintage eyewear may not always make a buyer aware of

this. In our opinion it doesn't detract from the frame itself and we

we feel it is better to give the piece its proper context. These

frames don't have side shields, so were the first level protective

plastic frame, sturdy and comfortable for work every day and

could take plano or very strong prescription safety lenses and

even tinted ones. Given the half-clear colourway of the zyl, these

would have been more middle management or scientist than factory

floor, and would have moved easily out of workplace. Likely to date

from the late 1950's and into the 60's. We have marked the

condition down to 'good' only due to the slight discolouration of the

metal of the left arm curl end, under the plastic covering. This is

the only minus and won't be be seen, tucked behind the ear.

    Otherwise, it's perfect.
