• Univis were manufacturers of quality eyewear

  they are still going today and are nearing their
  
  100th anniversay!) Although the frame is only
  
  marked U/Z, the distinctive shields on the face
  
  & arms are Univis' own logo, as you can see from
  
  this ad of theirs in this 1965 optical catalogue.
  
  Plastic frames given a natural wood finish were
  
  very popular in the mid-1960's and this colour
  
  was referred to as Brownwood.
