Oliver Goldsmith Eyewear started over 75 years
ago and are still going today. Perhaps their
peak period was around the time this pair
were made, when movie stars and Royals
were wearing OG designs. (Off camera, Peter
Sellers even wore the men's version of this pair -
check him out.) This pair was made from the
early 1970's and was part of a goldside range that
OG had made by an Italian company, Errebi.
The arms are gold aluminium given a brushed
finish on the outside and smooth on the inner
face. The joints are inset to the frame and held
by shields in the shape of harps on each side.
Oliver Goldsmith frames and sunglasses are now
exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
NB: frame marked down due to a few very minor
minor marks on the aluminium arms where they
have crossed and some gold rubbed off on the
harps.
