• This is After 5, designed by Monroe Levoy in
  
  the late 1940's and he was so confident of the
  
  flattering shape, that he used it for dozens
  
  of different models. The numbers on the frame
  
  tell us that he patented this design in 1949 -
  
  have a look at the drawings he submitted, ( here
  
  is another one) before producing this catalogue
  
  using the same basic shape to colour tint and adorn
  
  to "...accent your outfit...". Check out some of
  
  the outrageous combinations of ornamentation
  
  he offered, "to capture the fashion spirit of the
  
  occasion, whatever it might be." This frame was
  
  called After 5, for when you chose "...the elegance
  
  of shining gold for formal wear...". This is how it
  
  was sold in the plain version. There is more info
  
  on Tura on their website, where they are gearing up
  
  for their 70th anniversary. NB: although never worn,
  
  frame marked down for a few slight storage marks,
  
  thankfully hardly noticeable as these 50's aluminium
  
  frames are best when never worn and so rare to find.
