• A rare and exquisite example of a reading frame
  
  for women, this pair folds in half with the arms
  
  folding across the front and around the back to
  
  protect the lenses. Although no maker's mark
  
  on the frame, the folding mechanism looks to
  
  be French as does the fine stone and stud work.
  
  This is a half-eye reader, meant to be worn
  
  slightly down the nose, hence the larger bridge
  
  measurement.
