• American Optical made great sunglasses,
  
  especially in the 1950's and 60's. This
  
  pair is from 1968 as we have it in an ad.
  
  It is not a large frame but would still have
  
  been described at the time as rugged,
  
  masculine styling - as they tended to when
  
  appealing to men. And hey, you can't get
  
  much more macho than Ripcord, can you?
  
  Has the original True Color grey lenses
  
  which are great for every day use, protecting
  
  to 96% at 380nm. Looks hardly worn, so
  
  perhaps never took the big jump.
