info
The story behind this famous sunglass design
has been told in interview by Lamar Fike, Elvis'
long-term friend and employee. He found the
a pair of these in a gas station in the US in
1970 and Elvis tried them on and liked them.
He wore them for a while and after that, he
had them made in different materials and
colours and the gaudy adornments, ie the TCB
and EP logos, were added, the bridge having to
be enlarged to accommodate the latter. Here
though is a
photo of Elvis in an unadorned pair.
We had this pair fitted with new Polaroid lenses
in the high neutral (62%ABS) lenses which
apparently is a tint preferred by Elvis.
Long Live the King! NB: this month we are
also offering
the black version.
