Cool-Ray are US made Polaroids and we've only
seen the aluminium frames hailing from there.
This pair comes from the mid-1970's - we've
actually got it in an
ad from 1976 - centre left
- and you can see how effective the Polaroid
lenses are by how much the model is squinting
without them! Watkins Glen, in case you didn't
know, was the home of the US Grand Prix (East)
throughout the Sixties and Seventies - indeed
in 1976 it was our very own
James Hunt who
took the chequered flag at The Glen. We had
the original lenses replaced by Polaroid brand
lenses in the same tint, the 76% abs.
