  • In case you were born after say, the early

    80's and don't follow tennis, Arthur Ashe

    was one of the greats, winning three Grand

    Slam singles titles, including Wimbledon in

    1975. He was one of the founders of the ATP

    and gained huge support around the world when

    he boycotted the South African tour in 1969

    after they refused him a visa for being black.

    Enough history, now love the shades. Look

    to be late 70's (after he had retired from playing)

    and probably unisex. The logo AA is not just his

    initials but the line he designed for American

    Optical called, Advantage Ashe - also the title

    of his 1967 autobiography.
