Julbo are one of the oldest French optical firms
(since 1888!) and for many years they have been
making specialist sports eyewear and normally
their classic pairs are difficult to date, however
we reckon this pastel blue puts them in the 80's.
These are however serious sports glasses, for
mountaineering and glacier trekking as the lenses
are extremely dark: only 1-3% light transmission
from the edge to the centre so they are only to
be worn in very bright conditions and definitely
illegal to drive in. As you'd expect, the uv protection
is excellent, 1% at 400nm, as good as any you can
buy today and these benefit from an extra anti-
reflective coating on the inside face of the lens.
They look hardly worn and the leather side shields
are soft. Could suit men or women.
