  • The Dash is one the earliest of the plastic

    framed Ray-Bans we find as we know from

    literature that it was launched in 1952 and

    in its honour, it was sold alongside a matching

    hat designed by famous French/US milliner,

    Lilly Daché - (better known perhaps for her

    fruity Carmen Miranda turbans). The Wayfarer

    was launched the following year which is

    probably why they both share the same

    lozenge shields. Here is an ad for them both

    in 1953. The colour of this pair is a sort of

    bronze. NB: there are some tiny stress lines

    at the bridge (bottom photo) which are stable

    and are not a problem. Due to age.
