We would not have known this pair was called
Sun-Mate were it not for this 1964 catalogue
check it out. It describes the Sun-Mate as a
"....light fantastic deep curved design with
featherlight Tru-Tone lenses.". We can add
that it is a sleek rimless design with a classic
Sixties shape. The catalogue goes on to say
that the Tru-Tone lenses are a...."neutral grey
wrap-around lens of lightweight plastic, optically
perfect, fog-free, transmits colours in true
values...". They are dark at 18% LTF and the
uv protection is excellent, 97% at 400 nm.
