• Lumar were a specialist producer of plastic frames.
  
  An earlier catalogue we have of theirs shows their
  
  particular skill in planned, ie designed laminates.
  
  In the 1950's various media from straw to fabric
  
  to metallic thread were placed in a layer and then
  
  encased in layers of zyl. Their frames were
  
  "....hand-crafted from the ultimate optical material...",
  
  and we can see how this specialisation translated
  
  into their work a decade later. Here they have
  
  taken the archetypal wide-eyed shape and with a
  
  wild animal print fabric between layers of clear,
  
  white and black plastic have produced a classy
  
  example of Sixties kookiness. We presently have
