• We didn't need to have their name witten
  
  on the arm to know this frame was a Lumar:
  
  all their frames were made in beautiful inlaid
  
  acrylic - here is a 1950's pair we had recently.
  
  We were also lucky to acquire a very rare
  
  Lumar catalogue which told us that their
  
  frames were, "....hand-crafted from the ultimate
  
  optical material....styled with imagination and
  
  produced with patience and care...". They were
  
  based in Mount Vernon, NY but sadly are no
  
  longer there. This frame is a layer of green
  
  lurex mesh under clear acrylic and is top
  
  quality, with 7 barrel hinges holding full length
  
  wire cores. Looks to be early 1960's, so a
  
  little bit after our catalogue. Movie star
  
  material.
