Although born in Italy,
Nina Ricci lived almost
all of her life in Paris, indeed this was where
she started the House of Ricci in 1932. Perhaps
the 1970's was the house's most prosperous
decade as this is when this pair dates from. The
luxurious large frame being in crystal, ie clear
plastic looks light on, as do the thin striped
tricolor decoration - this patriotic design given
a twist by being applied to the front while on the
arms it fills go-faster grooves. The logo on the
bridge and in raised metal badges on the arms
adds another 70's touch. A beautiful and very
collectible pair.
