Ted Lapidus did a brief apprenticeship with
Christian Dior in the 1950's before opening
his own boutique in Paris. His house is still
going, having been taken over by his son,
Olivier, but before he retired he made this
style of sunglasses, with its tubular bamboo-
like design with gold metal accents, his own.
This pair is one of his most unusual shapes
and a rare colour, not seen by us before.
