info Helmecke were established by Gerhard Helmecke in 1947, based in northern West Germany, near the Danish border. He built a state of the art factory and was incredibly successful, starting out simply making frame temples and then moving into design and manufacture of their own frames and sunglasses. For their sunglasses ranges they commonly used Carl Zeiss lenses, as they have done here - these being the darker 85% Umbrals. The frame is a swirl of browns in an aviator/ visor shape with wide library sides flairing at the temples. The quality is high, with joints pinned front and sides with featuring domed pin heads.
